Superfast! (2015) Movie Synopsis - Plot Summary

Undercover police officer Lucas White enters the world of underground street racing to join a gang of street racers led by Vin Serento to get closer to a crime ring led by Los Angeles kingpin Juan Carlos de la Sol. The morning after losing a street race, Lucas goes to Vin's garage with a wrecked Smart Fortwo and lands a job as a mechanic, despite objections by Vin's friend Curtis. He also develops a relationship with Vin's sister Jordana.

The next day, Lucas and Vin head to a secluded area, where they win a dance audition for de la Sol. The duo drive de la Sol's supercar to a warehouse to meet up with a gang and exchange it for a briefcase of cash, only to discover a bomb inside. They play catch with the gang until the bomb explodes on Vin's face before a shootout ensues. Vin chases after the gang leader while Lucas accidentally guns down Detective Hanover, his superior and the only one aware of his identity as an undercover cop. After the duo flee from the scene, Detective Rock Johnson and Officer Julie Canaro arrive to investigate the shootout. Meanwhile, de la Sol orders a hit on Vin following the double-cross. Back at Serento Garage, Vin and the gang discover a list of de la Sol's illegal activities through a computer in the supercar, to which they set out to steal de la Sol's secret stash of $100 million. For this heist, Vin employs the services of Rapper Cameo, Cool Asian Guy, and Model Turned Actress. At the same time, Jordana reveals to Lucas that she is pregnant with their child. Later, the gang begin their heist, but end up on the wrong street and mistakenly mug a pastor and a nun delivering bingo night money. They regroup and deduce that the secret stash is inside a Big Ass Taco restaurant. They hatch a plan to break into the vault, steal the cash, and flee to an extradition-free country with no casualties involved, except for Curtis. The next morning, Johnson and his squad raid the garage; the facility is empty, but Canaro discovers the gang's plans, which are heavily ignored by Johnson.

At the Big Ass Taco, the gang realize they have been double-crossed by Curtis and engage in a shootout with de la Sol's thugs. At the last minute, Curtis is shot dead by de la Sol's henchman Cesar while protecting Vin. Using the restored Smart and Lucas' Toyota Corolla, Vin and Lucas tow the whole restaurant away. De la Sol and Cesar chase after them with Johnson and his squad in pursuit. Vin's lesbian girlfriend Michelle hands herself over to Canaro to help the gang get away. Meanwhile, de la Sol kicks Cesar out of his SUV after an argument over the climate control. Johnson kills Cesar in a shootout and stops de la Sol, but the kingpin flees after bribing the detective with a male enhancement kit. Upon hearing an explosion, Johnson heads to the abandoned restaurant and chases after the gang. He nabs Jordana and reveals to her and Vin that Lucas is an undercover cop. Lucas, instead, handcuffs Johnson to the spoiler of Jordana's Scion tC and walks away with Vin and Jordana while Johnson struggles to grab his bottle of baby oil on the ground. With the cash stowed in the trunks, Lucas and Vin agree to one more race, with Jordana's unborn baby at stake. However, de la Sol arrives, demanding the return of his money, but is run over by a squad car with Michelle and Canaro making out. Jason (Zac Efron) is sitting on a bench in New York City waiting for someone to arrive. A voiceover explains that he has been waiting for a long time, but to explain why, he needs to go back to the beginning. Jason begins by telling the audience that every relationship reaches the "So..." moment, where someone in the relationship will want to take the relationship to a more serious place. At that point, Jason knows the relationship is over, as he is not ready to start dating.

Jason is currently working with his best friend Daniel (Miles Teller) at a publishing house designing book covers. Their friend Mikey (Michael B. Jordan), a young doctor who has been married to Vera (Jessica Lucas) since the end of college, comes to them after Vera requests a divorce. The three decide to go out to a bar and celebrate being single. The group meets up with Daniel's female wingman, Chelsea (Mackenzie Davis), as they try to get Mikey's mind off of his wife. Mikey meets a girl with glasses (Kate Simses), while Jason meets Ellie (Imogen Poots), and hits it off with her after teasing another man that was trying to buy her a drink. Mikey gets the girl's number, but decides not to call, resolving to work it out with his wife. Jason sleeps with Ellie, but escapes her apartment when he discovers circumstantial evidence that she may be a prostitute.

The next day, Jason and Daniel make a book cover pitch to a new author, who happens to be Ellie. Jason is able to explain himself and the two begin seeing each other on a regular basis. Meanwhile, Daniel begins to fall for Chelsea, and the two begin seeing one another. Additionally, Mikey meets with his estranged wife, and when she claims that the reason their marriage fell apart is because he is not spontaneous enough, Mikey kisses her, and the two sleep together in the hospital, reigniting their romance. All three friends attempt to keep their relationships a secret, due to their earlier agreement that they would stay single. The relationships all come to a head during Thanksgiving, a time that the three friends usually spend together, but varying circumstances keep them apart. Jason agrees to attend a funeral for Ellie's recently passed father, Mikey plans a Thanksgiving dinner with his wife, and Daniel attends the traditional Thanksgiving feast with Chelsea, free to openly tell the guests about their relationship.

Jason ultimately decides not to attend the funeral, not ready to fully commit to Ellie, and their relationship falls apart. Mikey has a serious conversation with his wife during their dinner, causing her to admit that she no longer loves him. Jason and Mikey head to the dinner where they discover Daniel's relationship with Chelsea, and when he denies that they are dating, his relationship falls apart as well. Although the three fight about keeping their relationships secret, they repair their friendship and try to recover their relationships.

Mikey calls glasses girl from the bar, setting up a date, and Daniel reunites with Chelsea after being hit by a taxi and ending up in the hospital. However, two months later, Jason has still not reconciled with Ellie, despite still being in love with her. Mikey and Daniel help Jason by encouraging him to tell her of his love at her weekly book readings, which are sparsely attended. However, upon their arrival, the reading is full and Jason is unable to figure out a way to talk with her. He decides to make a scene by improvising a book reading, referencing their first meeting and requesting that they start over by meeting in Gramercy Park.

A pirate named Burger-Beard travels to the island of Bikini Atoll to obtain a magical book that makes any text written upon it come true. The book tells the story of SpongeBob SquarePants, a childlike sea sponge who loves his job as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab fast food restaurant and faithfully guards the secret Krabby Patty formula from Plankton, owner of the Chum Bucket and business rival to Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob's boss.

The Krusty Krab is attacked by Plankton. After a military battle with giant foods and condiments, Plankton feigns surrender: he uses a decoy of himself to offer the greedy Mr. Krabs a fake penny, which he hides inside to gain access to Krabs' vault. The Plankton decoy distracts Mr. Krabs by crying outside the restaurant so Mr. Krabs can gloat about his victory. Plankton steals the formula, leaving a fake in its place. However, just as he is about to escape, SpongeBob catches him. They have a tug of war over the formula, but it magically vanishes before either can claim it.

Without the secret formula, SpongeBob can't make Krabby Patties, and the customers become ravenous. Only SpongeBob believes that Plankton is innocent of stealing the formula, and when all of Bikini Bottom turns on them, SpongeBob rescues Plankton with a giant soap bubble that he and Plankton fly away in. Bikini Bottom is soon reduced to a post-apocalyptic wasteland because of the absence of the much-relied-on Krabby Patty. SpongeBob proposes he and Plankton team up to get the formula back; he attempts to show Plankton the meaning of teamwork, but he doesn't quite understand. Eventually, the duo decides to go to the Chum Bucket and rescue Karen, Plankton's computer wife, to use as a power source for a time machine that will take them to the moment before the formula disappeared. They accidentally travel far into the future, where they meet Bubbles, a magical dolphin whose job it is to oversee the cosmos. They eventually succeed in retrieving the formula, but it turns out to be the fake Plankton had left.

Burger-Beard, whose seagull minions removed the final page of the book and rewritten the story so that he gets the formula, converts his ship into a food truck to sell Krabby Patties at a beach community named Salty Shoals. The final page, which has been discarded in the ocean, lands on the treedome of Sandy Cheeks. Crazed by the lack of Krabby Patties, Sandy thinks the page is a sign from the "sandwich gods", and suggests a sacrifice be made to appease them. The town attempts to sacrifice SpongeBob, but he and Mr Krabs smell Krabby Patties, and the crowd follows the scent, which leads to the surface. Bubbles returns because SpongeBob cost him his job as overseer of the universe. In reality, Bubbles hated the job and thanks SpongeBob by allowing him, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, and Squidward the ability to breathe on land. Plankton joins also, stowed away in SpongeBob's sock. Bubbles shoots them out of his blowhole to the surface, and they land on a beach.

The team locates Burger-Beard who banishes them to Pelican Island. Using Squidward's ink and the final page, SpongeBob transforms himself and the others into superheroes with special powers - The Invincibubble (SpongeBob), Mr. Superawesomeness (Patrick), Sour Note (Squidward), The Rodent (Sandy), and Sir Pinch-a-Lot (Mr. Krabs). They return and encounter Burger-Beard, who drives off with the formula, forcing the team to give chase. During the ensuing battle, the book gets destroyed. The team attempts to apprehend Burger-Beard, who picks the team off one by one.

Plankton, who'd been left on Pelican Island, becomes a muscle-bound hero named Plank-Ton and comes to assist them. After retrieving the formula, Plank-Ton and Invincibubble work together to create one final attack that sends Burger-Beard all the way to Bikini Atoll. Plankton, having learned the values of teamwork, returns the secret formula to Mr. Krabs and the gang uses the final page's magic to return home to Bikini Bottom. Bikini Bottom returns to order, and Plankton re-assumes his role as business rival, bringing things back to the "status quo".

During the film's final scene, Burger-Beard, who had been left on Bikini Atoll, is soon joined by his seagull cronies. The perform a grand rendition of the SpongeBob Squarepants Theme Song, but they are about to finish, Bubbles appears. He then argues with a seagull about how he doesn't like the song and the two engage in a rap battle. When the rap battle is finished, Bubbles finally allows them to finish their song, ending the movie.

In a post-credits scene, Gary is still seen chasing Plankton for trying once again to steal a Krabby Patty.

After the Barden Bellas' performance on President Obama's birthday disastrously ends with Fat Amy's (Rebel Wilson) awry airlifting solo, they are suspended from performing in any a cappella showcase. The Bellas' leader, Beca Mitchell (Anna Kendrick), makes a deal to allow the Bellas be reinstated if they win the Worlds a cappella tournament. Meanwhile, Beca secretly starts a recording studio internship that only her boyfriend, Jesse Swanson (Skylar Astin), knows about. Beca impresses her boss with her mashup skills for Snoop Dogg's Christmas album and is given a chance to become a producer. Fat Amy soon finds out and advises Beca to tell the other Bellas.

Freshman Emily Junk (Hailee Steinfeld) stops by the Bellas' house for an audition and succeeds when the Bellas learn that Emily's mother, Katherine Junk, was once a Bella. That night, the Bellas have a party with the Treblemakers, where Benji (Ben Platt) awkwardly develops a crush towards Emily. The Bellas later attend a car show which they could have performed at, to meet their replacers "Das Sound Machine" (DSM) - led by intimidating duo Pieter Krämer (Flula Borg) and Kommissar (Birgitte Hjort Sørensen). They then attend an exclusive riff off, where they lose against DSM in the final round when Emily tries to sing her own song.

The next day, the Bellas put on a performance similar to DSM as a warmup for the Worlds but ends in disaster. In response, Chloe (Brittany Snow) takes the Bellas to a retreat led by Aubrey Posen (Anna Camp) hoping to regain their lost harmony. Beca's frustration over the camp activities sparks arguments between the Bellas before Beca gets trapped by a net. The Bellas manage to get her down and calm things out at a campfire, with each Bella talking about their dreams and future. They regain their harmony by singing "Cups."

The senior Bellas graduate and all head off to Copenhagen for the Worlds a capella tournament, with Jesse and Benji to cheer them on. The Bellas perform along with Emily's original song and former Bellas, including Aubrey and Emily's mother, winning them the competition. Afterwards, Emily is given a proper initiation by the senior Bellas.

Seasoned con-man Nicky Spurgeon (Will Smith) goes to a nightclub, where a very inexperienced grifter, Jess Barrett (Margot Robbie), attempts to seduce him and later pretends that they've been caught by her jealous husband, in order to con Nicky. Seeing through their deception, Nicky exposes their plan and advises them never to lose focus when faced with unexpected situations before leaving. Jess finds him in another nightclub a few days later and convinces Nicky to become her mentor by detailing all information she acquired on him, including that his father, Bucky Spurgeon, was forced to shoot Nicky's grandfather after a con gone wrong, a ploy known as the "Toledo Panic Button."

Nick takes Jess to New Orleans, where she is introduced to Nicky's crew. She picks a few pockets as a test, and soon Nicky and Jess develop a romantic relationship, upsetting Nicky, who was taught by his father to never become emotionally involved with anyone in their line of business. At the 17th Associated Football Franchise of America Championship Game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome between the Chicago Rhinos and the Miami Threshers, Nicky and Jess con a compulsive gambler, Liyuan Tse (B.D. Wong) out of all his money, after making Tse pick a player's number, 55, from the game---a number that he was psychologically programmed by Nicky and his crew to pick which would be the same number worn on the Chicago sideline by a person Jess would easily recognize: Farhad (Adrian Martinez), a member of the crew. Nicky later explains that Jess was the "little blind mouse" who was not supposed to know until later that Nicky was running a game on Tse the whole time. Afterwards, Nicky gives Jess her share but reluctantly sends her away, leaving her heartbroken.

Three years later, Nicky is in Buenos Aires, working for billionaire motorsport team owner Rafael Garriga (Rodrigo Santoro). Garriga needs to beat a team headed by Australian businessman McEwen (Robert Taylor) to win the championship. Nicky will pretend to be a disgruntled technician on Garriga's team and will sell a bogus component to McEwen, slowing their car down during the race. At a pre-race party, Nicky runs into Jess, who is now Garriga's girlfriend. Nicky has a convincing fight with Garriga in public and is recruited by McEwen to provide the component.

Nicky begins pursuing Jess again, and they eventually rekindle their relationship. The head of Garriga's security entourage, Owens (Gerald McRaney), is suspicious and follows Nicky and Jess. Nicky delivers the component to McEwen for three million euros but also sells it to the other teams for similar amounts. While he is waiting for Jess at his hotel room, he receives a text saying "You're burned leave now" meaning he is exposed and should leave immediately.

Nicky and Jess attempt to return to the United States together. However, they are caught by Garriga's men and taken to Garriga's garage, where Nicky pleads for Jess's life and is beaten by Garriga. Nicky explains his game. It involved wooing Jess (again) enough to plant a necklace on her with a device that would remotely read Garriga's keystrokes on his laptop, thus giving Nicky the password to download the specs for the component onto his own laptop. In other words, Jess was the "little blind mouse" in Nicky's con once again. However, Jess then reveals that she was only trying to seduce Garriga in order to steal his valuable watch, and afterward Owens shoots Nicky in the chest, causing a horrified Garriga to leave. Owens then reveals himself to be Nicky's father, Bucky, and assures Jess that he avoided any major arteries. He simply employed the "Toledo Panic Button." Bucky then tapes up Nicky's wounds and draws excess blood out of his son's chest with a metal plunger so that he can breathe again. They flee the garage in Garriga's vehicle.

Bucky drives Nicky and Jess to the hospital to treat Nicky's punctured lung and departs with Nicky's money as a reminder of the consequences of losing focus. A humanoid alien (Aamir Khan) lands on Earth naked on a research mission in Rajasthan, but is stranded when the remote control of his spaceship is stolen. He manages to get the thief's cassette recorder, a National Panasonic RQ-565D. On the same day in Bruges, Jaggu (Anushka Sharma) meets a man named Sarfaraz (Sushant Singh Rajput) and falls in love with him. Jaggu's father (Parikshit Sahni) objects to their relationship because Sarfaraz is a Muslim from Pakistan; he consults godman Tapasvi Maharaj (Saurabh Shukla) who predicts that Sarfaraz will betray Jaggu. Determined to prove them wrong, Jaggu proposes to Sarfaraz. She is heart-broken at the wedding chapel when she receives a letter calling off the marriage due to their differences.

She returns to India where she becomes a television reporter. Jaggu meets the alien and becomes intrigued while watching him distributing leaflets about missing Gods. She tries to talk to him, but he ignored.

Finally, the alien tells his story. There's a flashback, the alien, who is oblivious to Earth's customs, learns to fit in among humans by wearing clothes and using money that he steals from couples having sex in "dancing cars". He attempts to learn to communicate by grabbing peoples' hands and absorbing their memories through touch, but this leads the people to chase him away, believing him to be a pervert. A passenger vehicle carrying bandmaster Bhairon Singh (Sanjay Dutt) strikes him and renders him unconscious. Bhairon takes him to a doctor, who declares the alien to be suffering from amnesia and assumes that the amnesia is the result of the collision. Bhairon decides to take the alien along with his troop, and becomes his friend. Interpreting the alien's attempts at hand-grabbing as sexual interest, he takes him to a brothel. There, the alien holds a prostitute's (Reema Debnath) hand for six hours and thus learns the Bhojpuri language.

Mr. Peabody is a gifted anthropomorphic dog who has an adopted 7-year-old son, Sherman. He tutors Sherman travelling throughout history using the WABAC, a time machine.

They visit Marie Antoinette in Versailles during the French Revolution. Getting caught in the Reign of Terror, Peabody is nearly executed by Maximilien Robespierre with a guillotine, but escapes with Sherman through the Paris sewers.

In the present day, Sherman attends the Susan B. Anthony School in New York City. His knowledge of the apocryphal nature of the George Washington cherry-tree anecdote leads to a fight with Penny Peterson in the cafeteria where she puts him in a choke hold. Sherman bites her to escape. Peabody is called in and is confronted by Ms. Grunion, a Child Protective Services agent, who implies that Sherman's behavior is due to being raised by a dog. She informs Peabody that she'll come to their home to investigate whether he's an unfit parent.

Peabody invites Penny and her parents over for a dinner party to reconcile before Ms. Grunion arrives. Penny calls Sherman a liar for claiming first-hand knowledge of history. Despite Peabody's contrary instructions, Sherman shows Penny the WABAC. Penny goads Sherman into taking her into the past, where she stays in Ancient Egypt to marry King Tut. Sherman returns to get Mr. Peabody's help. Peabody hypnotises the Petersons, and retrieves Penny by telling her the fate of a pharaoh's widow.

The WABAC runs out of power, but Peabody is able to get them to Renaissance Florence where they meet Leonardo da Vinci. Penny and Sherman explore da Vinci's attic, finding his flying machine. Penny goads Sherman into flying it, which he manages to do before crashing. Da Vinci's thrilled the device works, but Peabody's upset that Sherman risked his safety and destroyed an historical artifact.

They again attempt to return, but a black hole forces them into an emergency landing during the Trojan War. Sherman, upset, runs off and joins the army of King Agamemnon in the Trojan Horse. During the battle, Penny is trapped inside the Horse as it rolls towards a cliff. Peabody rescues her, but apparently dies during the attempt.

Sherman pilots the WABAC to a few minutes before they left in the present to get Peabody's help to fix everything. As Sherman and Penny try to explain the situation, Sherman's earlier self shows up. Peabody tries to conceal the presence of two Shermans from the Petersons, then Grunion arrives. Then a second Peabody arrives from Ancient Troy. Grunion's attempt to collect both Shermans causes them to touch and begin to merge. Both Peabodys rush to assist, but they each merge back together amidst a cosmic shockwave. Grunion grabs Sherman to take him away, hurting him. Peabody, furiously bites Gruinion, who then calls the NYPD. Peabody, Penny, and Sherman race to the WABAC, but cannot time travel due to a rip in the space-time continuum caused by the merger of their cosmic doubles. Historical figures and objects from the past begin falling from the cosmic rip and into the present .

Harassed by helicopters, Peabody crash-lands the WABAC in Grand Army Plaza at William Tecumseh Sherman's statue's base. Historical figures and police quickly surround them. Grunion calls in Animal Control to collect Peabody, implying that he'll be euthanized. Sherman explains that everything was his fault, but Grunion contends that it's all because a dog can't raise a boy. Sherman climactically shouts down Grunion, saying that if being a dog means being as loving and loyal as Peabody is, then he's proud to be a dog too. Penny, her parents, the historical figures, and others all make the same pledge. Peabody is granted a pardon by George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Bill Clinton.

Peabody and the historical figures try to figure out how to close the rip, Sherman suggests they travel into the future. Peabody and Sherman take off in the WABAC and undo the damage. The historical figures are dragged back to the respective times. Gruinon vows revenge on Peabody until Agamemnon abducts her back to his own time.

Sherman returns to school having made friends with Penny. Peabody is proud of his boy.

Impian memang tak selalu sama dengan kenyataan. Yang dalam angan-angan terlihat indah belum tentu sama indahnya saat benar-benar terjadi. Mungkin Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) dan Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) sudah tahu itu tapi tetap saja godaan untuk mewujudkan impian lebih besar dari kesadaran kalau impian kadang tak sama dengan kenyataan.

Allen Gamble dan Terry Hoitz adalah dua orang detektif yang berdinas di New York Police Department. Jangan keburu mengira kalau tugas dua orang detektif ini penuh ketegangan seperti dalam film. Mereka berdua adalah dua orang petugas kantor yang hampir tak pernah menghadapi peristiwa menegangkan. Allen memang tak keberatan bekerja di kantor sementara Terry justru sangat berharap bisa turun ke jalan.

Satu hal menyatukan Allen dan Terry adalah kekaguman mereka pada pasangan detektif Danson (Dwayne Johnson) dan Highsmith (Samuel L Jackson). Tak disangka-sangka, suatu ketika muncul kesempatan buat pasangan Allen dan Terry untuk untuk menjadi Danson dan Highsmith. Celakanya, saat kesempatan emas ini datang, yang terjadi justru sama sekali di luar perkiraan mereka.
